Jack won the first 17 of his record 18 professional major championships with compact blade-style putters. For his 18th and final, he used an oversize heel-toe-weighted MacGregor Response ZT that drew double-takes from everybody who saw the Golden Bear wielding it at the 1986 Masters.

It is one of the most famous putters ever produced, and in honor of the 25th anniversary of the tournament in which it starred, the Nicklaus Companies has a limited-edition series of signed collectibles. This Classic edition features a replica of the famous putter, a photograph of the famous birdie putt on the 17th hole, a copy of Nicklaus' 1986 Masters scorecard, and an engraved plate-along with a certificate of authenticity featuring the official Golden Bear silver hologram.
